Dear Horned Frogs and Families,
The challenges of 2020 have profoundly affected the Texas Christian University community. Students, parents, extended families, faculty and staff have personally and perhaps professionally, felt the impact of this most unusual year. At TCU, equal to the uncertainty that all have experienced is optimism – unwavering, expansive, optimism, for the future of TCU and our community.
Today I share impactful news about the annual tuition rate that is typically announced after the fall Board of Trustees meeting, which concluded this afternoon. The Board of Trustees today announced there will be no tuition increase for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The pandemic has imposed unprecedented financial burdens on many, which the University has met with additional aid* and support for students, along with the people, technology and infrastructure investments necessary to offer a safe, conducive environment for academic development in the unmatched TCU setting. This has spurred necessary innovation and sacrifice by the TCU community in order to continue to deliver our mission with excellence.
The value of your TCU education continues to grow with the expansion of the University’s reputation for competitive academic programs and an unparalleled experience. Long before the pandemic emerged, the Board was working toward building the TCU Endowment so we could offer lower tuition increases and make the TCU experience more accessible to the most talented and academically gifted students.
Even as our nation and our world continue to grapple with a pandemic, we have many reasons to be hopeful as we plan for a brighter future. In every critical moment, I’ve seen the TCU community step up to adversity with compassion, respond to impossible challenges with answers, and offer leadership during these most anxious times.
Horned Frogs will continue to make a difference in the world and for the world. We take our responsibility to our community seriously and hope this announcement reinforces the magnitude of our commitment to you.
Thank you for your support.
Victor J. Boschini, Jr.
Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University will not send a printed tuition update to parents or families.
*Since the start of the pandemic, the University committed to providing an additional $65 million in financial assistance to support TCU students and families. Students are encouraged to contact the University’s Scholarships and Financial Aid office for more information.
