On Monday, Governor Abbott announced his plan to (re)open Texas. The phased reopening does not include guidance for education, either K-12 or colleges and universities. For more information about which businesses are allowed to open for Phase I on May 1, 2020, visit the Governor’s Report to Reopen Texas. Phase I is scheduled from May 1, 2020 through May 18, 2020 after which, the governor will evaluate next steps.

Fall Return to Campus Announced
Chancellor Boschini announced to students, parents, faculty and staff today that the university intends for students to safely return to campus for the fall 2020 semester, with a planned start date of Aug. 24.
