Dear Faculty and Staff,
We are nearing the end of another successful semester at Texas Christian University. It has been a privilege to help lead the planning efforts for a steady, managed return to campus. It is a joy to have so many back on campus, delivering the personal, highly connected and supportive experience for which TCU is known. Thank you, thank you.
Each decision by the Campus Readiness Task Force and Public Health Group is made to keep our community safe and mission focused. In early March, TCU announced our plans for a fully in-person and on-campus experience this fall for our students, faculty and staff. We are excited for our entire community to return to campus for a fully on-campus TCU experience.
Beginning June 1, all employees who have not already done so will return to campus, reengage with colleagues and complete their work responsibilities on campus. We will continue to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, which presently requires wearing face coverings and physical distancing indoors (note - evolving circumstances change this guidance from time to time). This may require extra planning based on some office configurations; therefore, each Vice Chancellor will be working with their leadership to address these areas with specificity. Expect these conversations and division-level communications to begin immediately.
Your commitment to our return helps prepare the campus experience that best supports our desired academic environment and the emotional well-being of our students, faculty and staff members.
We can do this safely; over the past 14 months TCU has demonstrated, through established health and safety protocols, our ability to create a safe in-person experience. We are pleased and grateful for our community’s adherence to guidance, which has resulted in extremely low case counts on campus. Vaccines are plentiful in Tarrant County, and the TCU community has the opportunity to be vaccinated, resulting in a high vaccination rate on campus.
In the coming weeks, Human Resources will follow up with additional information. In the meantime, read the most up-to-date Health and Safety Guidance for Employees, which will be updated as public health conditions change. See below summary information that goes into effect on May 10.
We continue encouraging you to register for vaccination through TCU as well as through Tarrant County Public Health. Importantly, if you have already received your vaccine elsewhere, let us know by filling out the TCU verification form. More than 6,400 students, faculty and staff report that they have received the COVID-19 vaccine – an important part of Protecting the Purple.
Thank you for all you do for our community of learners, educators, collaborators and friends. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Go Frogs!
