Dear All TCU Employees –
I hope you and your VIPs are healthy and well during this extended time working away from campus.
Two (very long) months ago, the TCU community collectively encountered the need to find new ways of doing our jobs. We have learned to engage differently with one another and proven our resilience by overcoming limitations placed on our community by COVID-19. As Texas starts allowing some businesses and service providers to open, we anticipate approval for colleges and universities to begin reopening on-campus processes.
While students continue to learn remotely and online throughout the summer, TCU is developing a comprehensive plan to welcome you – our coworkers, and colleagues – back to campus before students return this fall. Returning to campus for employees will occur in phases, once we’re confident the health and safety protocols being put in place are fully operational and sustainable. Policies are being developed or updated to take into consideration new practices or ongoing concerns associated with how people are working through this pandemic. Our goal is for our workforce to reenter campus with confidence and trust knowing that we have done our best to provide a safe and healthy working environment for everyone.
The first phase of employees, mostly supervisors, managers, and leaders, may begin working on campus during the week of May 26. Bringing leadership and supervisory employees to campus allows time for this group to reacclimatize to the campus workspace, participate safety protocol training, and prepare the space for the next phase of employees. Subsequent phases will follow with a final target date for all employees returning to campus by July 31, 2020. Of course, these dates may change, depending on guidance from local, state and federal agencies. We also recognize needed flexibility for employees whose circumstances may prevent them from returning. We will address these in future communications.
As we’ve all come to learn—this information changes quickly. I hope to count on your patience and continued understanding as we move through the process of getting campus ready for the return of our entire campus community. Each of us has an important role and responsibility in preparing for a safe, successful return to campus – we are #TCUtogether!

I look forward to your return to campus. I have missed the hustle and energy of a vibrant and active Horned Frog community. As always, take care of yourselves, your VIPs, and each other – it is truly what matters most.
In good health and well-being,
