What is e-misting (electrostatic spray) and why does TCU use this technology?
Last Updated May 25, 2021
Electrostatic sprayers place a positive electrostatic charge to liquid disinfectant as it passes through a nozzle. The positively charged antimicrobial droplets are attracted to negatively charged environmental surfaces such as desks, table tops, chairs, door handles, etc. TCU uses EPA-approved disinfectants for COVID-19. TCU Facilities and Housing and Residential Life use e-misting as a final disinfection step when appropriate in accordance with CDC recommendations.
