Captain Brent A. Cleaver, a Kansas native, graduated from Iola High School in 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Pittsburg State University (Kansas) in 2015. He worked in the civilian sector as a parts store manager until Summer of 2017. 

CPT Cleaver completed Basic Combat Training and Officer Candidate School and commissioned in the United States Army as an Ordnance Officer in January 2018. He completed the Ordnance Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) at Fort Lee, Virginia and reported to the 2d Cavalry Regiment in Rose Barracks, Germany in July 2018. He served as the Squadron Maintenance Officer, Distribution Platoon Leader, and FSC Executive Officer for War Wagon Troop, 4th Squadron, 2CR until September 2021. His notable achievements include operating as the Unit Movement Officer to deploy 4th Squadron to Tbilisi, Georgia utilizing air, sea, rail, and convoy movements in support of Noble Partner 2020, planning and executing four Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) rotations, earning his Silver Spurs, and being inducted into the 2CR Honorary Squadron of Dragoons. 

CPT Cleaver graduated from Logistics Captain Career Course (LG-CCC) and reported to the 1st Infantry Division in Fort Riley, Kansas in Spring 2022. Assigned as the First Brigade Support Operations Planner, he led the logistics efforts redeploying the brigade from their EUCOM Deployment. Additionally, CPT Cleaver planned and executed the logistic requirements for a brigade-sized qualification life-fire that qualified over 100 Abrams, Bradley, and Paladin crews. 

CPT Cleaver assumed command of Fury Forward Support Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery, 1st Infantry Division in May 2023. He served as the commanding officer of 150 Soldiers for two years, leading battalion logistics planning and execution for dozens of Paladin life fire exercises and qualifications, a National Training Center rotation, Cadet Summer Training support, and daily field feeding, supply, distribution, and maintenance requirements. His notable achievements include the highest levels of readiness inside the division, completing the 1ID Durham Challenge, and being inducted into the Order of Saint Barbara. He relinquished his successful command in April 2025. 

CPT Cleaver reported to the Horned Frog Battalion in June 2025 and immediately volunteered to support Cadet Summer Training in Fort Knox, KY as a Platoon Training Officer, leading 40 cadets successfully through the rigorous training program. Currently assigned as the MSII Primary Advisor, CPT Cleaver is also the program S4, Logistics Technician, and TCU ROTC Marathon Running Group Advisor. He is accompanied by his beautiful wife of 10 years, Mrs. Dannette Cleaver, and their three-year old son, Jude. 

CPT Cleaver has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Medal, and the Army Overseas Service Medal.
