My name is Kristina Wigington, and I currently work as an Administrative Assistant in the Nursing Department at TCU. In my role, I coordinate all nursing department events and assist with a variety of other administrative tasks. My educational journey has been anything but traditional—I chose to start my family first and then return to school later in life.
I began my academic path in 2005, earning an Associate of Arts degree, and later returned in 2011 to complete a Paralegal degree. After joining TCU in 2018, I was inspired to pursue my Bachelor's degree, which I began in 2019 and completed in 2023 with a major in General Studies and an emphasis in Geography. Motivated by that accomplishment, I enrolled in TCU’s Master of Liberal Arts program and am on track to graduate in the summer of 2025. And yes, I enjoy punishment, so I decided to pursue yet another degree, which brings me here today. As a TCU employee, I’m limited to two courses at a time, so I’ll be a part-time student for the foreseeable future.
In my “spare time,” I love spending time with my husband, our three sons, one daughter-in-law, two dogs, a cat, a visiting neighborhood cat, and the occasional opossum. We're big fans of TCU athletics and even traveled to Kansas City to support the Women’s Basketball team at the Big 12 Championship. While I never imagined becoming someone who enjoys watching wildlife, I’ve apparently reached that age where I enjoy watching squirrels. I also enjoy puzzles, hiking, reading, attending concerts (I don’t know what I’ll do when all the alternative 90s rock bands are no longer), trying to prove I can still do cartwheels, and of course—planning events. Go Frogs!!
