A recent news story in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram explored “How TCU athletics has become a powerhouse this spring” and reported the TCU sports in the top 10: beach volleyball, baseball, women’s soccer, men’s tennis, rifle and equestrian.
Athletic Director Jeremiah Donati credited his coaches.
“We hired these coaches to improve the profile of their respective programs and raise the overall performance level,” Donati told the newspaper. “They have done just that.”
David Roditi, tennis coach, said several things have contributed to the accomplishments of his team: He’s used the baseball program’s success as a model, all TCU sports have benefited from the domino impact of the successful football program, and the university has been encouraging.
“It’s all come together for us, and the administration has been very supportive with all the crazy stuff we’ve done with the fans,” Roditi said.
And, of course, there’s the athletes.
“It is really exciting to watch our programs competing at such a high level,” Donati said. “We’ve never asked more of our student athletes than we have in the 2020-2021 academic year, so it is incredibly gratifying to see their hard work and perseverance rewarded.”
