Back by popular demand, “landing zones” will again be available across campus, giving Horned Frogs beyond-their-dorm options for “attending” online classes. New private landing zone spaces are available in Sadler Hall as well as tents to offer outdoor seating options beginning in March. For the spring semester, TCU has designated almost 100 seats in the library, Sadler Hall and Smith Hall as landing zones, giving students safe spaces to participate in virtual classes while still physical distancing.

TCU’s interactive campus map has been updated to show the new landing zones, along with capacity for each space.

Library room 1208 will again offer 20 seats in an open configuration.

Expanding capacity, Smith Hall 1520A&B now provides 37 seats in an open configuration.

New private landing zone spaces — 40 seats — are available in Sadler Hall Suite 3000.

The tents will return in March, as weather improves, and offer outdoor seating options.

In all three landing zone areas, students must use their personal devices to connect with their online classes and follow public health protocols as indicated by signage on the door to each room. In open seating (the library and Smith Hall), students are required to wear earbuds to reduce disruption. Private seating in Sadler Hall does not require earbuds.

Landing zone seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The landing zones are open during class hours (8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on Fridays).
