Nominations for the 2021 Chancellor’s Staff Award for Outstanding Service are opening April 12. Created in 2003, this annual award recognizes a staff member noted for exemplary service and above-and-beyond contributions to the welfare of the campus community.

“Over the past year especially, we have seen daily examples of the unwavering selflessness and dedication of our staff,” said Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. “This award provides the perfect opportunity to recognize and celebrate those who are relentlessly working for the greater good of the entire TCU community.”

The award recipient is selected from a pool of nominees representing each university division and announced by the Chancellor at TCU’s Opening Luncheon in August.

Past award winners share a record of meaningful collaboration and positive impact through interaction with faculty, staff, students and alumni as well as demonstrated support of TCU programs and events. A photo gallery of recipients is on display near the Chancellor’s Office in The Harrison.

Last year’s Chancellor’s Staff Award winner was Ike Ukaegbu, senior associate athletics director for compliance.

“I am very grateful for this honor and still surprised to have received it,” Ukaegbu said when the award was announced in August. “I wouldn’t have received this honor if it wasn’t for my amazing compliance staff — Brent Cunningham, Erin Brown, Megan Munce, Taryn Beverly, Stephanie Key and Max Doctor — who have bought into the customer service-based culture I have tried to create over the last six-plus years. We have tried to create a culture in which we understand the expectations of our coaches, staff and student-athletes; provide them with accurate, consistent and timely information about NCAA rules; maintain professional and respectful relationships with them; deliver what we promise; communicate clearly; and solve problems.”

Nominations for the 2021 Chancellor’s Staff Award for Outstanding Service close at 5 p.m. Friday, May 7.
