The TCU Department of Public Safety will test the TCU Alert emergency mass communication system beginning around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13. These tests will include just the indoor and outdoor loudspeakers and emergency lighting on campus. The testing will begin with a global announcement that the test is beginning, followed by the testing of five separate messages, and will conclude with a global announcement that the test is complete. The testing is expected to last 10-15 minutes; however, if there are complications with the new system, it could run longer.
These tests are routinely conducted to ensure the system functions as intended and that all audiences are familiar with it.
