Research and creativity are critical to TCU’s mission, and the university’s 150th anniversary provides a special opportunity to bring the two together. TCU’s Office of Research is accepting proposals for a special grant to commemorate creative activity for TCU’s 150th anniversary.

The purpose of this particular grant is to elevate the arts in celebration of the Sesquicentennial,” said Floyd Wormley, associate provost for research and dean of graduate studies. “Funding is specifically for creative activities in the fine and performing arts, such as art, music, theatre, dance, film, creative writing, etc.”gradient

Projects should explore one of three themes: Explore the Past, Embrace the Present or Impact the Future. Interdisciplinary collaboration is accepted and encouraged. Funding for this initiative is up to $10,000, but monies can be awarded among multiple projects. Any project(s) funded must be completed by or before Oct. 1, 2023.

The projects will be presented during a special Research Week in October 2023 as TCU begins to close its year-long recognition of 150 years.

“Our faculty are extremely talented. I look forward to commending the research and creativity of our faculty as our entire campus is celebrating our 150th,” Wormley said.

All permanent full-time faculty are eligible to apply. An evaluation committee consisting of faculty from the fine and performing arts will review all applications. Proposals are due on Jan. 16, 2023. For more details, dates and application visit the TCU’s Office of Research.
