AI & TCU Data

Before uploading TCU data to any AI systems, consider the consequences if the data were stolen or involved in a data breach. Could the data cause financial, legal, reputational or operational harm to the university or individuals?

To mitigate risk, the following tools have been vetted for the TCU community.

Unauthorized use of TCU data with non-approved AI systems is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action in accordance with university policy. Please review TCU’s Data Classification Policy and interim AI usage guidelines before using TCU data with AI.

Approved

The approved AI systems list is subject to ongoing review and may be modified or revoked as risk, regulatory, or technological conditions change. TCU data must not be used to train, fine-tune or improve foundational AI models.

Do not use the AI transcribing when discussing TCU confidential data.

Zoom AI Faculty, Staff, Students Public, Private TCU users have access with their account. Do not use the AI transcribing or companion when discussing TCU confidential data.

The following tools are currently being reviewed for TCU use and TCU data, according to risk and security procedures. The TCU community is not permitted to use these tools, especially with TCU data, until they have been moved to the approved list. Please use the approved tools when needed.
