 Dr. Cannell is an epidemiologist, gerontologist, and professor at TCU in Fort Worth, TX. His research focuses on aging, late-life quality of life, and elder mistreatment prevention. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and secured more than $30 million in research funding. As principal investigator of multiple federally funded studies, including the DETECT project, his work has screened over 90,000 older adults for potential mistreatment.

In addition to research, Dr. Cannell has taught 8 courses at 4 universities and is recognized for his expertise in data science and epidemiologic methods. He has authored two textbook chapters and one textbook and has presented widely on aging-related research and statistical methods. His experience spans scientific writing, grant development, project management, and public speaking.

Dr. Cannell is committed to using data-driven approaches to generate new insights, improve clinical and community practices, and support professionals in identifying and addressing issues affecting older adults.
