Areas of Focus

In addition to his work with the bands at TCU, Mr. Youngblood also teaches music education classes and supervises student teachers. He supervises Graduate conducting students that perform with his ensemble and teaches Digital Recording. He has been involved with digital recording and work station production for the last 30 years and utilizes these skills within the School of Music.

Mr. Youngblood is a leading drill designer, arranger and program coordinator for marching bands. He regularly consults with and writes shows for high school bands across the nation. His shows have won many state championships, a Bands of America National Championship and placed in the finals of numerous competitions. Mr. Youngblood Consults with and designs for marching bands throughout the United States. He is a frequent clinician and adjudicator for honor bands at every level in Texas and the Southwest.

The Horned Frog Marching Band under his direction has been recognized by the CBDNA as a “top 5” university marching band. The TCU Symphonic Band , under his direction, was invited to perform at a CBDNA Regional Conference. The first appearance of the TCU Symphonic Band at a CBDNA conference in TCU history.

The TCU Horned Frog Marching Band – Known as “The Pride of TCU, under the direction of Brian Youngblood, performs for all home football games and makes several appearances away from the TCU campus each year. Mr. Youngblood has also worked to coordinate Camps and large group events such as “Frogs for the Cure” throughout the campus community.
