Devin Burnell is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Neeley School of Business. He joined TCU in 2023 after receiving his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Prior to completing his Ph.D., he earned both his M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. 

Professor Burnell’s research focuses on exploring the psychology of entrepreneurship and especially how entrepreneurs manage uncertainty and resource constraints during early stages of venture creation. His research has been published in various journals including Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice,Journal of Management, and Journal of Management Studies, among others. He serves as a member of the Board of Review for the Journal of Business Venturing and was also the recipient of the Babson College award for the Journal of Business Venturing’s Best Reviewer of the year in 2025.
