Catherine Stephens, PhD, RN

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, my Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and my Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch. My research examines the relationship between nurse staffing and nurse sensitive indicators, with a focus on floating nurses. I study how both float pool and floated unit nurses influence hospital-acquired infections, falls, and pressure injuries.
