Dr. Diego Torres Reyes' orchestral experience includes performances with the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra and the Colombian National Symphony Orchestra. From 2014 to 2019, he was a member of the Bogotá Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, serving as Second Clarinet and later Principal Clarinet. He made his soloist debut in 2017, playing Weber's Clarinet Concerto No. 2. Dr. Torres Reyes also performed at major international festivals, including Young Euro Classic (Berlin), La Via dei Concerti (Italy), Santa Catarina Music Festival – FEMUSC (Brazil), and the Cartagena International Music Festival (Colombia). At TCU, he has performed with the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and Clarinet Ensemble, appearing at the Texas Music Educators Association Conference (2020, 2023), the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic (2023), and the International Clarinet Association Festival (2022, 2025), where he debuted as guest conductor of the Clarinet Ensemble.
In the DFW metroplex, Dr. Torres Reyes has maintained an active performing career, serving as a clarinetist in the Conducting Lab orchestra at The Conducting Institute for several editions since 2022. Dr. Torres Reyes has also performed with the Stonebriar Wind Symphony, New Texas Sinfonia, the First United Methodist Church orchestra, and Serenata Strings.
A native of Bogotá, Colombia, Dr. Torres Reyes received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Clarinet Performance (2025) from Texas Christian University under the tutelage of Dr. Corey Mackey. Additionally, he holds a Master of Music (2021) from Texas Christian University and earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas.
Caldas (2018) in Bogota, under the instruction of José Gómez. Dr. Torres Reyes currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty at Texas Christian University, where he teaches Ear Training, applied clarinet lessons, and woodwind chamber music. He also serves as a clarinet instructor in the Mansfield Independent School District, maintains a private studio, and performs regularly in symphonic and chamber music settings across the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
