About

Kathryn Baugher performed in numerous piano festivals and competitions through the Texas Federation of Music Clubs (TFMC) and participated in the National Piano Guild Auditions while studying piano with Dr. Vivian Siao in Arlington, Texas through grade school. She achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance with a concentration in Pedagogy and a Minor in Art from MidAmerica Nazarene University, Olathe, KS in 2002. Under the rigorous instruction of Dr. Andre Kasparov and Dr. Nancy Klein, she achieved a Master of Music Education with a concentration in Piano from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA in 2011. Kathryn has participated in many church musician roles as music director, pianist, organist, and choir director. She also directed the 229th MI BN Choir while active duty in the US Army in 2003-2005.

Her dedication to music education has spanned over 30 years experience in piano instruction to hundreds of students in 8 different cities across all ages and proficiency levels. Kathryn has accompanied multiple public school systems in Virginia and North Carolina and professional music organizations including the Virginia Symphony Chorus. Most notable performances were opening for Riders in the Sky with sister Dana Chavarria as guest pianists at Bass Performance Hall, Fort Worth, TX in 2003 and joining the Virginia Symphony Orchestra Chorus to perform Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony “Symphony of a Thousand” for the Virginia Arts Festival in 2012. After nearly 17 years of moving due to military assignments, she now resides in Fort Worth, TX with her husband, daughter, and son close by at Tarleton State University. Kathy maintains a full private piano studio and has been the ballet pianist for Texas Ballet Theater since 2023. In addition, she is growing a successful website design business. She looks forward to continuing her work as a dance accompanist at the TCU School for Classical & Contemporary Dance.
