Leslie Massenburg is one of the most sought-after bassoonists and contrabassoonists in the DFW area. She has frequently played and toured with the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphonies and plays many productions with the Dallas Opera Orchestra. She serves as principal bassoon of the Dallas Chamber Symphony, Plano Symphony Orchestra, and Irving Symphony Orchestra; second bassoon with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra; and contrabassoonist with Dallas Winds and the East Texas Symphony Orchestra. Her recording credits include many albums with Dallas Winds, including their Grammy-nominated John Williams at the Movies, live recordings with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Appalachian Spring with the Dallas Chamber Symphony, and the soundtracks to the film Deep in the Heart II: Texas River and the video game The Banner Saga.

As a soloist, Leslie has appeared with the Richardson, Las Colinas, Garland, and Arlington Symphonies, Mount Vernon Music, and the Richardson Community Band, and has performed Bassoon It Will Be Christmas with the Fort Worth, Plano, and Las Colinas Symphony Orchestras, as well as Dallas Winds. As a chamber musician, she has performed with Chamber Music International, Spectrum Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, Caledonia Winds, Mount Vernon Music, New Texas Sinfonia, frequent chamber performances with the Plano Symphony, and outreach concerts with Texas Winds.

Ms. Massenburg has taught bassoon at the University of Texas at Arlington and served as an online music mentor for Connect4Education and American River College. She maintains a private studio in the Dallas Metroplex, with students who regularly earn Texas All-State honors and full scholarships to leading music institutions nationwide. She recorded a complete bassoon curriculum for beginners with MusicProfessor.com and served as a curriculum advisor for additional instrumental courses. She is also frequently invited to present educational programs for schoolchildren in advance of symphony field trips.
