Murell is a nationally recognized Costume Designer who has designed and worked on over 170 projects in theatre, television, opera, film and fashion. In New York City, his professional costume design credits include A Tale of Two Cities for Jeffrey Finn Productions, O’ Pioneers! for The Acting Company, A Doll’s HouseA Questions of Mercy, and The Cherry Orchard for The Julliard School, and The School for ScandalThe Miser, and more for the Pearl Theatre Company. Murell received multiple nominations for his designs while working with The Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., including for the productions of The Government InspectorThe LiarEdward IILorenzaccioHedda Gabbler, and Camino Real. Nationally, he has designed productions for The Houston Grand Opera, The Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Berkshire Theatre Festival, The Philadelphia Theatre Company, Cleveland Playhouse, Center Stage in Baltimore, Maryland, The Denver Center Theatre, and Oregon Shakespeare Festival. In 2007, Murell was awarded the Irene Sharaff Young Master Award for costume design.
