About

Myles Pinder, tenor, is an active performer and dedicated educator, hailed for a voice described as "deep and warm." His previous opera roles include Nico (Lysistrata), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Jenik (The Bartered Bride), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Martin (The Tender Land), Sam (Susannah), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Jimmy O'Keefe (Later the Same Evening), Leo Hubbard (Regina), and more. In addition to operatic roles, he is emerging as an in-demand tenor for concert and oratorio works. As a tenor soloist, Myles has sung Handel's Messiah with Fort Worth Symphony, Irving Symphony and Midwestern State University; Mozart's Requiem with Plano Civic Chorus and HPUMC Tower Arts Series; and performances of Puccini's Messa di Gloria, Stainer's The Crucifixion, and Haydn's Theresienmesse.

He served two summers as a Hans and Leslie Fleischner Young Artist with Pittsburgh Festival Opera, including recording a full-length film adaptation of Mark Adamo's Lysistrata. He has also had the pleasure of singing with the Indianapolis Opera and Opera Arlington. Myles has been a part of several recording projects in Jazz, Pop, and Classical styles, most recently being commissioned to record an EP for an emerging artist in Paris.

Pinder is also an award-winning researcher with his project "Musician Eye Strain during Covid-19 as Related to Screen Exposure in Higher Education," which won an Outstanding Research Award at the 39th annual Performing Arts Medicine Association International Symposium in 2021.

Previously, Myles has taught at Midwestern State University, Texas Woman's University, and the University of North Texas. Pinder enjoys singing and teaching across all genres and styles, with past students reaching the semifinals of NBC's The Voice, performing at top theaters in the DFW metroplex, and many successful music educators emerging in their fields.

Pinder is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of North Texas. Myles holds an MM from Southern Methodist University and a BA from Butler University.
