Biography

Tyler Jean Dukes is a Doctoral Lecturer in the Department of English for the academic years 2024-2026. Previously, she was a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Women and Gender Studies at TCU. 

She specializes in early British life writing and literature, as well as gender, disability, and the medical humanities.

Her dissertation is titled "(In)Capacity: Disability Discourse in Women’s Autobiographies during the English Civil Wars, Interregnum, and Restoration."

Recent publications include: “Teaching Literature During a Pandemic-Induced Empathy Deficit: A Narrative Medicine Approach to Pedagogy" (2023) and "William Rowley, The Birth of Merlin" (2022).
