Due to predicted severe weather for the DFW area, Texas Christian University will close today at 3 p.m. All classes and university events are canceled. We regret any inconvenience, but the safety of our faculty, staff and campus visitors is always our chief concern. All classes and activities are expected to resume at their regularly scheduled time on Thursday, April 18.

Employees providing services related to (1) health and safety, (2) the presence of a residential student community and (3) agreements with the public for the use of University facilities should confer with their supervisor to determine the University’s needs and reporting requirements. Additional information is available in Policy 5.008 posted on the Human Resources website.

In the event that the severe weather develops, additional information will be available via the Emergency Management Notification System (campus loudspeakers) for 70 m.p.h. winds and 1.5-inch hail. The TCU Alert system, the University’s mass notification system, which reaches out via text, phone and email, will be activated for a tornado warning.  The news also will be available on the home and news/events pages of tcu.edu and via TCU’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.

TCU’s Office of Emergency Management will have additional information.
