TCU spring 2020 commencement date announced

Texas Christian University will host its Spring Commencement ceremonies on Aug. 8, Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. said in a video message to graduating seniors today.

Spring Commencement was originally planned for May 9 and is rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“After thoughtful consideration of our options, we felt it was most important to host for our students, Horned Frog families, and for our community, a celebration of academic achievement in TCU's grand tradition,” Boschini said.

The university also will celebrate seniors at the traditional Senior Toast, now moved to Aug. 7.

“We hear from students that the Senior Toast is their favorite commencement weekend event,” Boschini said. “We are going to try to give them everything we were supposed to give them in a traditional May commencement.”

The event will be held in the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena on the TCU campus. Students will receive their diplomas from Chancellor Boschini, who also will deliver the commencement address.

Additional details for seniors will be coming soon.
