TCU’s beloved Amon G. Carter Stadium is experiencing a trio of upgrades this summer, and all are scheduled to be complete before TCU opens its 2026 home football schedule in September.

"Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for every fan who walks through the gates of Amon G. Carter Stadium," said Mike Buddie, director of intercollegiate athletics. "These upgrades enhance every part of the game day experience and reflect our continued investment in one of college football's premier venues."

New LED lighting

A full-spectrum LED lighting system has been installed at the stadium and is undergoing several rounds of testing in recent weeks. The programmable system allows the stadium lighting to synchronize with music and other game-day moments, creating a light shows that add to the excitement during every Horned Frog touchdown and other key moments throughout each game.

A larger video board

Installation of a new full-framed video board has been completed in the south end zone, replacing the stadium’s previous board in the same location. The new board is roughly 60% larger than the one it replaces and is built to deliver greater clarity and expanded functionality, making it easier for fans to follow the action through replays, live game stats and in-game entertainment.

A new grass field

The playing surface has also been refreshed with a new natural grass field. Several years had passed since the field was last resurfaced, and the rebuild will continue to provide TCU football with a best-in-class natural-grass surface on which to play.

All three stadium upgrades will greet fans when the Horned Frogs host Grambling State at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12, giving fans an enhanced game-day experience. Single-game tickets for the 2026 season are now on sale.
