The TCU Children’s Gallery at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History was designed for today’s young explorers and tomorrow’s future leaders. Designated for some of the museum’s youngest visitors, the space was recently reimagined to bring a revitalized energy while retaining the original elements that made the gallery special.

“Engagement with our home community is foundational to Texas Christian University,” said Chancellor Daniel W. Pullin. “We are proud to support the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History through the TCU Children’s Gallery, which recreates iconic elements of our campus within this legendary local institution and fosters young learners’ interest in the sciences and the arts. Our hope is for this new space to serve visitors, children, families and future Horned Frogs across North Texas for years to come.”

Originally opened in 2009, the Children’s Museum Gallery was designed with play-based learning in mind. The area provides hands-on, enriching activities and learning opportunities for children and has become one of the museum’s most beloved spaces.

Like anything well-loved by children, the daily wear and tear eventually warranted some improvements and upgrades.

“We are deeply grateful to Texas Christian University for their investment to reimagine one of the most cherished spaces in the museum,” Regina Faden, president of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, said. “This partnership reflects both TCU’s and our commitment to education and the future of our community.”

New key elements of the gallery include:

  • Theatre stage with dress-up props and a light and sound control booth
  • Cook Children’s Medical Center area
  • Farm area plus  food and flower stand
  • Food truck
  • Train table
  • Rocketship, powered by Meta
  • Toddler area, complete with mutton-busting TCU sheep toys

These areas invite children to use their imagination, cooperate with others and learn through pretend play, helping them to socialize and build motor skills. Learn more about the TCU Children’s Gallery at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
