Texas Christian University is once again among the nation's financially strongest private universities, earning an A+ in Forbes' 2026 America's College Financial Grades.

The annual ranking evaluated 928 private colleges and universities in the United States using 10 financial measures of institutional health based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics, including operating performance, endowment assets, admissions demand, liquidity and long-term financial stability. Only 103 institutions received the publication's highest grade. In Texas, TCU was one of only four private universities to earn an A+.

For TCU leadership, the recognition reflects years of thoughtful planning and financial discipline.

“An A+ doesn't happen because of one good fiscal year," Nunez said. "It's the result of making thoughtful financial decisions over time to build a solid foundation that then allows for investment in our students, programs, and people that define the unique TCU experience. We're proud to see that work recognized."

The recognition is especially notable as many colleges and universities continue to face financial challenges. According to Forbes, nearly half of the private institutions it evaluated received a C grade or lower, while more than one-quarter earned the publication's lowest grade.

TCU's financial strength allows the university to continue investing in what matters most.

“Financial strength isn't the goal—it's what makes everything else possible," said Chancellor Daniel W. Pullin. "It gives us the ability to invest in our students, support outstanding faculty and staff, enhance the campus experience and continue expanding TCU's reach and impact. We are especially thankful for the Board of Trustees’ longstanding commitment to prudent financial stewardship, which has been instrumental in building the strong foundation that enables TCU to thrive today and continue to pursue our aspirations."

For TCU, the A+ reflects the financial strength that supports investment in students, faculty and staff while positioning the university for long-term success.
