TCU Faculty Offer Expert Insight as FIFA World Cup Captures Global Attention
The FIFA World Cup is generating headlines far beyond the matches themselves. From the business of hosting the tournament to tourism, media coverage and fan behavior, the event is creating stories that stretch well beyond the pitch.
To help journalists cover those angles, Texas Christian University launched a World Cup Expert Center that connects media with faculty who can provide context and analysis on a wide range of topics tied to the tournament.
The online resource brings together faculty from across the university whose expertise includes sports business, economics, communication, psychology, health, international affairs, public safety and other fields that intersect with one of the world's largest sporting events.
The resource was created by TCU’s Office of Communications to help reporters quickly connect with faculty experts who can provide insight on World Cup-related stories.
As coverage of the tournament continues, the resource also highlights the breadth of expertise across TCU and the many ways faculty contribute to conversations happening on a global stage.
