TCU to Host ESPN College GameDay Ahead of Conference Showdown
This week, TCU Horned Frogs Women’s Basketball clinched a share of their second consecutive Big 12 regular season championship. This weekend, for the first time in program history, the team will host ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm, bringing one of the sport’s premier pregame shows to campus ahead of a conference showdown against Baylor University.
The live broadcast will originate from Schollmaier Arena at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 1, prior to the No. 11 Horned Frogs home finale vs. No. 18 Bears in a battle for the undisputed Big 12 Championship.
The appearance marks a milestone moment for TCU, as both programs make their debut on the nationally televised women’s basketball pregame show.
“We are thrilled that ESPN has chosen to make TCU the final regular-season stop for their College GameDay Covered by State Farm show,” Mike Buddie, director of intercollegiate athletics, said. “It is a testament to the success of head coach Mark Campbell and his team as well as the community support behind our program. Sunday will be an exciting time as we look to extend our NCAA-best 41-game home winning streak against Baylor.”
TCU boasts the streak, following this week’s home victory over the Iowa State Cyclones. In the same game, Olivia Miles was named Big 12 Player of the Week for the third straight week and for the fifth time in 2025-2026. The AddRan College of Liberal Arts graduate student recorded her fifth triple-double of the season. On Wednesday, the Horned Frogs beat the Cincinnati Bearcats in road win to clinch a share of the Big 12 regular season championship.
“ESPN College GameDay is coming to town,” Campbell said. “In college basketball, that’s the biggest platform, and they pick the biggest games in the country. So, for them to come and allow us to showcase our university, our athletic department, our women’s program ... I’ll tell you what, we need our student body; it’s got to be the best student body turnout we’ve ever had in our program. We need Fort Worth to show out. I mean, how cool? Against Baylor, senior night, in a chance to win (an undisputed) league title – I mean, can you write a better script?”
Admission to the live broadcast is free, and seating will be general admission on a first-come, first-served basis, giving fans an opportunity to be part of the historic moment. ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm will be hosted by Christine Williamson, joined by analysts Andraya Carter and Chiney Ogwumike. The trio brings extensive experience to the desk, including Ogwumike’s career as a two-time WNBA All-Star and Carter’s recognition as a Sports Emmy nominee. The Fort Worth stop is one of the final regular-season road shows before ESPN begins its exclusive coverage of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship later in March.
