Dr. Zachary Gillen is the Associate Director of the Roach Institute of Athlete Engineering and an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Texas Christian University. His research focuses on human performance and applied sport science, with particular interest in neuromuscular performance, strength and power development, athlete monitoring, biomechanics, and the application of emerging technologies to sport. Within the Roach Institute, Dr. Gillen leads collaborative research projects, mentors graduate students, and works across disciplines to translate athlete data and laboratory-based research into practical applications for sport performance. He earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and previously served on the faculty at Mississippi State University, where he directed the Resistance Exercise Performance Laboratory and contributed to the Athlete Engineering Institute. His background also includes several years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer, providing a practitioner-informed perspective to his research in the Roach Institute.
