Chancellor Emeritus
Chancellor Emeritus Victor J. Boschini, Jr., served as Texas Christian University’s 10th Chancellor for 22 years before transitioning to Chancellor Emeritus on June 1, 2025. As an educator and visionary for over two decades at TCU, Dr. Boschini has earned a renowned reputation for his exceptional leadership and tremendous contributions to advancing TCU’s mission and vision. As Chancellor Emeritus, Dr. Boschini continues to office in The Harrison and actively work on behalf of TCU, fulfilling his duties of friend-raising, fundraising and serving as chief enrollment officer, as well as teaching.
Dr. Boschini is championed for developing TCU’s unmatched student experience, academic excellence, athletic strength and unique culture of connection, which are now the hallmarks of the TCU experience. Serving as Chancellor from academic years 2003-2025, Dr. Boschini led the transformation of the TCU campus into one of the most beautiful and best-run college campuses in the nation. The university’s endowment grew from less than $1 billion in 2003 to over $2.6 billion, and total enrollment grew from 8,275 in the fall of 2003 to 12,938 in the fall of 2024.
Celebrated as a “leader among leaders,” additional achievements during Dr. Boschini’s two decades as TCU Chancellor include: the establishment of the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at TCU; the completion of the $1 billion Lead On: A Campaign for TCU, the most ambitious fundraising campaign TCU history; the university’s historic 150th anniversary; vast changes to the physical campus growing the total square footage from 3 million to 5.8 million in support of enrollment and residence life; and outstanding athletics success competing in the highest level of NCAA Division I sports, including 15 national championships, 92 conference championships and a run to the College Football Playoff National Championship in January 2023, securing TCU's status as an athletic powerhouse. Today, TCU consistently ranks among the nation’s top universities and colleges, and the university’s prestige and national and international distinction continue to rise.
Dr. Boschini is a member of the President’s Council of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges and is a member of the Fulbright Scholar Advisory Board. He also sits on the boards of the Van Cliburn Foundation, the University of Mount Union and is an Emeritus board member of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. He received recognition from the Institute of International Education with the IIE Centennial Medal and serves as a Commissioner for the Council on Higher Education as a Strategic Asset. Dr. Boschini also serves as a member of the Advisory Council for Education for the Global Tech Security Commission. He has served as Chairman of the Big 12 Conference and Mountain West Conference, as well as the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Dr. Boschini came to TCU from Illinois State University, where he served as president. Before ISU, he held administrative and teaching positions at DePauw, Butler and Indiana universities.
While working at DePauw University, Dr. Boschini’s life changed when he met Megan McAuliffe. They married in 1984 while Megan completed her master’s degree at St. Louis University. He credits Megan for making him a better person and inspiring him to be a leader. Together they have four children: TCU graduates Elizabeth Anne, Mary Catherine, Edward Mark and Margaret Ellen.
Dr. Boschini and Mrs. Boschini continue to stay actively engaged on campus and in the greater Fort Worth community. The Boschinis host groups of alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends of TCU and board members in support of TCU’s culture of connection. They attend various campus events and activities and typically participate in Frog Camp, where they enjoy meeting new students each summer. Together, they are committed to ensuring that TCU achieves its vision as a world-class, values-centered university that offers a premier student experience. They both believe that we share the responsibility — and the honor — to shape and transform the leaders who will shape and transform our world.
Dr. Boschini also teaches a first-year seminar called The American University Experience each fall in the College of Education. In Fall 2025, Dr. Boschini will teach a leadership class in the Neeley School of Business.

In honor of Chancellor and Mrs. Boschini’s 22-year commitment to establishing Texas Christian University as a world-class, values-centered university, the TCU Board of Trustees announced in May 2025 that the TCU Music Center will be named the Megan and Victor Boschini Music Center. Together, the Boschinis have been committed to ensuring that TCU fulfills its mission to educate individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community.
Victor and Megan, who have lived in Fort Worth for over 22 years, have been involved in a variety of community-building activities across TCU and Fort Worth. Mrs. Boschini’s visibility on campus and in the community throughout Dr. Boschini’s tenure as Chancellor illustrates their shared dedication to TCU’s culture of connection. Together, they continue to host students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of TCU in various settings. Dr. and Mrs. Boschini are members of the Addison & Randolph Clark Society at the Centurion level, the Chancellor’s Council and the TCU Frog Club.
Opened in April 2022, the Megan and Victor Boschini Music Center is an invaluable asset to the College of Fine Arts and School of Music. It is part of the Baker Martin Creative Commons on the east side of the TCU campus. At the heart of the facility is the intimate and acoustically perfect Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU. The 700-seat state-of-the-art hall hosts musical performances enjoyed by music lovers, TCU students, faculty and staff and the entire Fort Worth community. In addition, the center provides rehearsal rooms and learning resources for TCU’s band, orchestra and percussion programs.
