Areas of Focus
Dr. Hoyer’s program of research focuses on language and literacy development in children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD, e.g., Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder) and children with primary language impairment. Our work advances understanding of developmental profiles and drives intervention research aimed at improving communication, literacy, and broader developmental success for these clinical populations.
