Race & Reconciliation Initiative

Main Content

The Race & Reconciliation Initiative (RRI) is an academically-based, historically-focused initiative designed to investigate and document TCU's relationship with slavery, racism, and the Confederacy. This academic endeavor draws upon the talents of faculty, staff, students, and alumni to research and raise awareness of racism and inequality, helping us work toward a campus culture where everyone is respected and valued.

A Frog of Many Firsts

RRI recently hosted James Cash ’69, Ph.D., TCU’s first Black student-athlete and the first Black basketball player in the Southwest Conference, for a discussion about his time as a Horned Frog and his journey to becoming a national business leader and the first Black tenured faculty member at Harvard Business School.
